Description Position Purpose
This is an entry level position within Cargills global Strategic Sourcing and Procurement team. The primary function of this position is to lead and support sourcing projects and assist with daily needs of a given category of spend. These activities include but are not limited to; supporting the strategic sourcing process, execution of national, regional, and/or local agreements to include bidding, negotiations, supplier selection/development, and contract management.
This position is responsible for executing supply contracts and other related work in a fast paced environment to meet company goals. The will coordinate activities with procurement, logistics, plant management, operations, R&D, and finance personnel to meet supply requirements. This is data intensive role and applicants should be well-versed in Excel/Access, working with large data sets, and using data to take action with little to no direction.
60% Implement sourcing strategies Accountable for achieving individual tactical sourcing targets and goals Coordinate day to day activities related to alignment and implementation of strategic sourcing activities. Run reports, build bid templates, analyze spend information for opportunities to take action. Establish and maintain on-going tracking metrics. Drive projects to support a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Focus on development of projects to promote workforce efficiency and stakeholder value. Identify, lead, and support continuous improvement opportunities. 20% Manage supplier events & relationships Source non-contracted requirements by: o Gathering and performing basic analysis of internal spend data o Gathering specifications/requirements from internal stakeholders o Researching unique and alternative supplier options o Execute bid events in our RFP software, Ariba o Collecting supplier bids and performing basic analysis of results o Negotiating contract terms and conditions Manage supplier relationships in alignment with category strategy and requirements - SRM. Manage supply interruptions and coordinate root cause and corrective actions where applicable. Escalate supply interruptions to appropriate category contact as deemed necessary. Act as liaison for supplier payment inquiries as requested. 15% Provide procurement support & planning Gather information and apply a general understanding of plant operations in order to provide suppliers with forecasted supply requirements. Ensure alignment between supplier and Cargill. Conduct research and analysis through internal and external data sources to deliver pertinent information to function and stakeholders to aid in strategy development. Act as subject matter expert in the area of Sourcing and Procurement for stakeholders and project teams. 5% Manage/execute procurement transaction processes Ensure requests are processed for procurement of materials and services. Delegate administrative duties to support staff as appropriate (e.g. processing procurement requests, preparing purchase orders, scheduling/expediting/confirming delivery, coordinating return of rejected items etc. Identify supply chain issues and collaborate with suppliers and Cargill plant personnel to identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence.

Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or related degree program OR High School Diploma and 5+ years of procurement experience. Experience using the Microsoft Suite -Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proven business and financial acumen.

Preferred Qualifications: SAP Systems experience. Manufacturing or Procurement experience. Category management experience (Industrial Services, Chemicals, Raw Materials, etc.). Comprehensive knowledge of advanced principles, concepts and practices in following areas: procurement, computer based inventory systems and manufacturing operations.
