Illumina has a great opportunity for an experienced Staff Analyst (Project Lead), People Technology interested in joining a fast-paced, high growth environment. This role will report to the Manager of People Technology and be responsible for multiple projects globally supporting Human Resources and cross-functional groups.

The ideal candidate will have 10 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst and/or PM in People Technology (HRIS) with a thorough understanding of Human Resource programs, processes, and technology. Top candidates will have direct experience working on multiple concurrent projects with involvement in solution design, process optimization, technology assessment, business case development and implementation. In addition, this role will require a deep understanding of the Workday HCM platform including business process configuration, security and reporting.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Administration of Workday systems to support optimization of HR business processes
  • Collaborate and align business requirements with HR system including cross-functional teams in finance, internal audit, talent acquisition, compensation & benefits
  • Coordinate with large cross-functional project teams for Human Resources primarily in Talent (Talent Management and Talent Acquisition) using our project management methodology standards
  • Develop and manage core project management deliverables including detailed scope and requirements, resource plans, project schedules, risk management plans, change control processes, communication plans, test strategies and lessons learned
  • Escalate critical risks, issues, changes, problems or delays to the project sponsor & People Technology leadership as needed
  • Facilitate clear and concise status updates for key project stakeholders including direct communications with project sponsors and steering committees
  • Partner with business owners to identify opportunities to optimize business processes and identify effective action plans to increase efficiencies
  • Characteristics of a Successful Candidate:

  • Experience with HR & Talent Acquisition programs, systems and processes (e.g. HCM & applicant tracking systems, recruiting, sourcing & pre-screening, onboarding, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively with HR leadership & stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives, prioritization, and successful project delivery
  • Utilizing proven interpersonal and change management skills, overcome resistance to new processes and technologies
  • Strong business acumen to recommend optimal solutions to complex business problems by critically evaluating and distinguishing user requests from the underlying true business needs
  • Self-starter with proven ability to produce positive results under tight deadlines with limited resources
  • Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of HRIS experience configuring Workday HCM (Talent, Recruiting, Reporting/Dashboards, and Integrations preferred)
  • Ability to think critically and creatively in developing solutions to challenges
  • Proven ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel (Pivot Tables, Charts, Index/Match) and PowerPoint
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills
  • Capable of performing well in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Experience in life sciences, biotechnology, high-tech or related field is preferred
  • Educational Background:

  • Bachelor s degree required preferably in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
