The Facility Services Department (FSD) is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the MIT Lincoln Laboratory complex in support of the research mission. It also furnishes the design, engineering, and construction needs of the Laboratory, addressing its ever-changing program requirements. The department's overarching goal is to provide prompt, quality service in a wide spectrum of responsibilities in compliance with state and federal codes, and manage many services that impact the workplace quality of life for the Laboratory's population.Job Description FACILITIES INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNER As primary stewards of the laboratories critical resources, FSD is launching a new Asset Management Program that will include both Capital Renewal and Deferred Maintenance planning. Capital renewal is the planned replacement of building systems and infrastructure as they meet the end of their useful life. Through Asset Management, FSD will be able to fully understand the impact and operational tradeoffs of investment in certain building systems over others. FSD is seeking a motivated and creative Infrastructure Planner to lead these effort.Areas of ResponsibilityCoordinate strategic delivery of infrastructure and capital renewal program including developing an understanding of project functional requirements, construction scope, evaluating operational impacts of investment in building assets and systems; understanding impact on other service units. Manage MITLL??s instance of the Builder program, the Asset Management software hosted by CERL. Maintain data integrity within Builder and SAP systems to ensure accurate building-wide Facilities Condition Index (FCI).Develop plan to meet all necessary requirements for Air Force system compliance.Work collaboratively with FSD Engineering, Operations & Maintenance, Environmental Health & Safety, ISD, Security, and other service units to develop the capital renewal program and a deferred maintenance plan.Develop and analyze reporting for FSD and Laboratory leadership.In coordination with FSD leadership, develop business process for Capital Renewal and Asset Management program for all of the laboratory facilities. Lead planning of regular inspection of all assets.Develop effective working relationships with client groups and service partners to ensure a timely flow of planning information and communication.Skills and KnowledgeExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with all levels of management and consultants. Knowledge of and ability to understand design, architecture, engineering and construction principles and concepts. Familiarity with building codes. Demonstrated ability to provide creative and innovative solutions. Proficient in database management, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and knowledge of CAFM systems.EDUCATION Bachelor??s Degree required in planning, architecture, or related field. Active professional credential in one of the above fields.EXPERIENCEMinimum 3 years of prior relevant experience.Experience in management of complex and diverse project planning and execution, strategic planning on institutional, division or departmental level, familiarity with cost drivers and market conditions, and administrative and technical regulatory agencies.Preferred experience with institutional or corporate transition and organizational development.
