Oracle s Supply Chain Operations team is seeking a Supply-Demand Planner in the Commodity Planning and Operations team inside the Global Planning and Fulfillment (GP&F) organization.
As a Commodity Supply-Demand Planner in GP&F, you are responsible for planning and operationalizing a supply strategy for one or more commodities that delivers flexibility, deployment speed and cost-effectiveness for Oracle s Cloud and on-premises businesses. You create demand/supply and inventory plans, oversee and address material liability issues, design commodity ramp plans for new product launches and geographic data center expansions, and lead co-planning engagements with Oracle s suppliers.
You work in a highly cross-functional and data-driven environment, interacting with teams in the business unit, manufacturing, commodity management, logistics, product lifecycle management as well as other demand and supply planning teams. Key responsibilities include:
Develop a supply plan with critical component suppliers that that ensures the best balance of product availability given constraints in the supply chain
Lead the Collaborative Planning and Forecast Replenishment through strategic co-planning with the supply base
Develop inventory and flexibility strategies that best balance associated risks/benefits to continuity of supply and cost
Present supply-demand views for assigned commodities, including root-cause analysis for shortages and excesses.
Perform material allocations when supply cannot meet demand
Recommend NPI ramp strategies for commodities supporting new products
Develop End-of-Life/Last-Time-Buy strategies
Participate in transformation projects to enhance planning systems and process
Collaborate deeply with the associated cross-functional commodity teams in conjunction with individuals in Supplier Management, Global Manufacturing Operations, and Product Life-cycle Management.
Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
Strong collaboration, influencing and presentation skills
Fluency with MS Office suite
Experience with an outsourced high-tech manufacturing supply chain strongly preferred
Previous demand/supply planning experience in supply chain strongly preferred
Familiarity with Oracle demand/supply planning platforms a plus
5+ years relevant experience in Supply Chain, Finance or Engineering
Detailed Description and Job Requirements Interfaces with sales, business units and suppliers to develop product forecasts, create inventory strategies and resolve supply-demand issues impacting revenue, customer delivery and margin.
With direction on new assignments, develops product forecasts and inventory strategies for a set of assigned products. With guidance from senior colleagues, resolves supply-demand issues impacting customer delivery performance, revenue and margin. Evaluates inventory performance and identifies improvement opportunities. Root-causes forecasting errors and recommends adjustments. Presents business results and planning recommendations to cross-functional teams in sales, finance and business units. May be assigned to test new planning processes and systems. Assists and supports senior colleagues in their activities on an ad-hoc basis.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Work environment is occasionally ambiguous and the planner will need to manage through uncertainties with some assistance from senior colleagues and management. Work has a significant strategic aspect, as plans direct the positioning and purchasing of millions of dollars of inventory, and heavily influence continuity of supply and the customer delivery experience inside the assigned product set. Key skills and abilities include complex/statistical data analysis, influencing, presentation, communication, process improvement, and problem solving. Key knowledge areas include familiarity with supply chain planning principles, moderate business acumen and general understanding of product and business strategy. Prefer 2 years relevant experience plus BA/BS degree.
